The Legacy Staff Clan
Staff are divided into official representatives of Hunted Cow Studios and Voluntary Helpers. Voluntary Helpers are players with extra powers. Voluntary Helpers manage most administration tasks within Legacy such as community and accounts management.
Voluntary Helpers are hired when the Lead Helper (Currently Will) opens applications in the Main Forum. Applications can be made until the closing date listed in the thread. After this date, a period of consideration will take place until the Lead Helper has decided who has been successful and who has not. This period of consideration will include an initial review of the applications received where applications will be sifted based on suitability for the role. After the sift, promising candiates will be interviewed by the Lead Helper. The Lead Helper will then decide who has been successful and who hasn't based on the evidence available, with successful candidates being offered a role. Unsuccessful candidates may or may not receive feedback on their application and performance in the interview.

Staff Team Gangsterz2 Version 1 Zorg had a dedicated team of staff during version 1 of G2. There was also a team of Police, who were effectively Moderators around the game.

When the game came back online in 2005, members of the private beta were offered the chance to apply to become Staff Members when the game was released to the public a few weeks after.

The role of Player Staff was created in January 2009 to allow players to contribute to the game without becoming full Staff members. Player Staff had limited access to certain administrator functions in their respective departments to allow contributions to be made to those areas. The first two Player Staff to be hired were bcfcespley as Graphics Admin and Scott as Wiki Admin.
The introduction of the Player Staff role was controversial at the time. Before the Player Staff position was created, players were forced to give up their accounts to contribute to Legacy as Staff members, however this was no longer necessary with the introduction of Player Staff.
The Player Staff role was abolished in July 2009 with Player Staff at this time either hired as Staff or asked to step down.
The Volunteer Helper role is the spiritual successor to the Player Staff role and was introduced in January 2017. Volunteer Helpers are normal players with elevated privileges allowing access to the Staff System and administrator access to their respective departments.
