You have your price and then in parenthesis you have how many trades are left. The items are sorted by category, then by price, starting from the lowest and increasing. If you click on the item, you will be brought to the person's market page. It will show other items (if any) being sold by that person. It looks like this:

The Market Square, also known simply as the market, is the best place to buy items at discount prices and is where you know you will not get scammed. The market is located in Sector 2 and you can find people's second-hand items here. If you cannot get a drop, this is the place to buy a special hunting weapon. Also, you must be level five or higher to buy and sell in the market. This is what the market looks like:

As you can see, there are many items and stands on the market. You will learn how to search for specific items later.

Setting up a Stand

You can create your own standing by clicking the Setup Stand button at the bottom of the page. You basically choose how much you want to sell your item for. There are several ways of determining the price for your item:

  • look at how much you would buy the item from the game for, and depending on that price, take off a certain amount of credits
  • look at how much other people are selling that item, with the amount of trades
  • decide its fair market value while considering your monetary needs.

Over-pricing items on the market will be seen as storage and get you dis-favoured by the Marketsquare administrator.

This is what your setup page will look like:

You can also donate credits to your market stand since the market stands are ordered by the number of credits donated to them. Keep in mind, however, that such donations are non-refundable and the number of credits donated to your stand resets every month.

Searching

As previously mentioned, the market is gargantuan. To have to go through ever single stand looking for what you want is just preposterous. Of course, there is a simple solution to this problem. At the top right hand corner of the market is something that says Search Market. Just click that and you will see this:

There are different criteria that you can fill in. Obviously where it says item name you are looking for. Where it says item type, you can click it and get a drop down menu, where you can choose one of the following:

  • All
  • Melee Weapon
  • Gun
  • Projectile
  • Armor
  • Misc
  • Special
  • Health
  • Revive
  • Upgrade
  • Part

For item rarity, you can choose:

  • All
  • Different
  • Rare
  • Epic
  • Godlike

You can also search for items that can be used within a certain level range by typing in the desired level range in the two textboxes next to 'Item Level.'

Buying

Well, you've just done a search. This page will come up (with different items, obviously):

MarketSquare4.png

You have your price and then in parenthesis you have how many trades are left. The items are sorted by category, then by price, starting from the lowest and increasing. If you click on the item, you will be brought to the person's market page. It will show other items (if any) being sold by that person. It looks like this:

To buy the item, you just click Buy One. The item will lose a trade in the process.

Conclusion

The market is a beautiful feature of Legacy. It lets you sell items for much more than you would be able to sell them back to the game for. Also, it prevents you from being scammed.
