When you become a avatar you gain exclusive access to the development server which gives you special access to see updates before they are implemented into the main game. The development server is a place which used to be access to staff only and a select few people. It became available to avatars on the 14 of november 2007 to help zorg test out some of his updates and to give avatars a place to gain avatar again.
