Revision as of 08:03, 18 February 2011

On Saturday December 25, 2010, the Development Team removed the level cap. There are no stat bonuses gained for leveling past level 80, but players will unlock new outfit items at level 90 and 100.

On December 30th, 2010, they also added an option in the Game Settings menu - once players reach level 75, they may choose to continue leveling past level 80 or not. For those who had leveled past 80 before this option was implemented, and wished to return to level 80, Scott & Zorg offered to reset their experience to zero. This request could be made by submitting a ticket, however, it was a limited-time offer, as they stated that "[It] will only be available for the next couple of weeks."

Mechanics

Zorg generated ("pulled from the depths of hell") a new algorithm to calculate the experience needed to to level up above level 80. It increases the amount of experience needed to level at a much faster rate than the formula used for non-Avatars. This formula only comes into play once a player reaches level 80. Players of level 80+ receive the same experience per kill as a level 80, and similarly give the same experience as an avatar upon defeat.

The DEV team planned to remove experience gain for Avatars defeating players of level 79 and below (due to complaints of the increased difficulty of leveling from low-level players). However, upon announcing this planned change, many 80+ players argued against its efficacy, and very few players argued for the change. As a result, Zorg chose not to implement the change.

There is currently no hard level cap, which means that this table will continue to be updated as information about higher levels becomes necessary.
