No, this is not a guide on how to use the hospital, as that is obvious enough.

Rather, this is a guide on how to set up your very own Chapter Hospital. "What," you ask, "the hell is a Chapter Hospital?"

Simply put, it is a Market Stand, where Hospital medicines are priced for profit, but then the Gang Discount is applied to reduce the costs back to Hospital levels. "Why," you ask, "the hell would I want to do that?"

Two reasons, really. The first reason is pretty simple: Favor. I've been running a Chapter Hospital since before Gang Discounts existed (yeah, that means I used to go through my trade logs every 12 hours and refund Chapter Members). In that time, I've gotten numerous favors for running it. The second reason, and more important, is gang loyalty. Running a Chapter Hospital greatly benefits those who are still leveling up, as the Hospital is closed to them between 9 and 12. Offering discounted medicines on the Market keeps leveling cheap! Now, there are two ways to go about this. Heavy discounts (50%) and low discounts (20%). Using the "Heavy discounts" is easy: double the Hospital value for medicines, and then apply a 50% discount. Only Chapter members will ever buy the medicines, meaning fewer times you have to restock, but also no profits. Using "Low discounts" means the prices are only 1-2c over Hospital values, and you will make a (small) profit each time a non-TC member buys the medicines.

  • Heavy Discount Prices: 50% Discount

Revival Kits: 16c Antibiotics: 4c Small Medicines: 8c Large Medicines: 12c First Aid Kits: 30c Vicodin: 32c

  • Low Discount Prices: 20% Discount

Revival Kits: 10c Antibiotics: 2c Small Medicines: 5c Large Medicines: 7c First Aid Kits: 18c Vicodin: 20

Of course, other percentages are possible. To check the discounted prices, take whatever price you are setting, and multiply by ((100 - %_Discount) / 100). Then, bump the number UP to the next whole number.

So, if a 30% discount is desired, and you want First Aid Kits to cost 21c:

100 - 30 = 70 70 / 100 = 0.7 21c * 0.7 = 14.7c

The discounted cost of the FAKs is 15c, because 14.7 is bumped up to 15. If it had been 14.1, it would still bump to 15. This can be seen in the "Low Discount" option: 14c * 0.8 = 11.2, which is bumped to 12c. This is called a ceiling function.

Now, you can set up your very own Chapter Hospital!
